Workshops

As part of my creative journey and work, a desire was born to bring people together. Those who are curious about life, their inner world and the arts. I took two passions I had – journaling and cyanotype photography – and crafted bespoke workshops that promote arts education and self-awareness. To share with more people valuable skills I learnt that shaped my life.

The workshops run under a creative brand I created that is based on two elements that define me – my curls and my curiosity. Thus, The Curious Curly was born, a place for all types of creative projects, workshops, artworks and collaborations.

More about the workshops

Journaling workshops

The journaling workshops help people begin their journaling journey and encourage reflection and self-awareness. They started online as an Instagram Live series during one of the lockdowns of 2021 and grew to purely offline events.

Each time we explore a different theme, guiding participants through reflective questions, meaningful dialogue and creative, visual activities.

The workshops are suitable for all people regardless of writing experience as no skills in writing are required to journal. It’s just you and your journal.

Writing our thoughts is often something we do alone, yet it does not have to be a lonely practice. Here, we do it together.

We meet every month, usually hosted at the award-winning community hub The Gardens of the Future. An intimate group of 10 people join each time.

Since the beginning of the journaling workshops, their demand and reach have grown. As such, they have been part of the Larnaca Biennale 2023, Windcraft Festival 2023, Phaneromenis 70 Cultural Centre, and ChezΝού.

Cyanotype workshops

The cyanotype method is one oldest forms of photography printing. It uses a blend of two photosensitive solutions based on irons and salts that when exposed to sunlight, react and create stunning blue images.

It is a completely analogue and camera-less process from the Victorian period. Slow, experimental photography that typically uses the sun and real plants and flowers to create photograms.

As an evolution of my photography journey, I began experimenting with the cyanotype process in an effort to use my hands more and take a break from screens. My collection of press flowers came in handy!

Sharing my work online, people showed an interest in learning what this fascinating art process is and so the workshops were born.

In 2023, I began organising commissioned cyanotype workshops, introducing the technique to more people as a way to reconnect with nature and the handicraft process.

So far, I have collaborated with NGOs, art therapy centres, Erasmus+ projects and local artists.
